The program

As we believe that young innovative tech companies hold great potential, they deserve their own dedicated program. SPACELAB provides them with mentoring, workshops, office space, capital & access to Media-Saturn. For young innovative companies addressing the value chain of Media-Saturn or Media-Saturn’s product portfolio, SPACELAB offers excellent resources.
We plan to conduct two batches per year. Please visit the homepage for regurlary updated information.
Each batch takes place over a period of around 16-20 weeks.
The Media-Saturn-Holding facilitates the accelerator. With more than 1.000 outlets and 4,5 million customer contacts daily, Media-Saturn is the largest consumer electronics retailer in the EU.
When your company turns out to be one of approx. 15 pre-selected companies, you will participate in our pre-accelerator. Therefore we advise you to be prepared to travel to Munich and pitch your business idea shortly after the application deadline. At the pre-accelerator, 4 to 6 companies will be chosen to move into the SPACELAB office and take part in the second batch of our accelerator program. A comprehensive curriculum is awaiting the chosen companies.
Since we are the #1 CE retailer in Europe and collaborate with top-tier companies from a diverse set of industries, we have a strong network enabling us to provide the most suitable accelerator program for tech companies in Europe.
Since we can only host a limited number of young innovative companies, even some really good applicants will unfortunately not make it into our program. But you will have the chance to apply again.
First of all, we want to lift your startup to the next stage, improve operations, shape your product and scale your business. Within the last weeks of the batch, we will intensively prepare you for our demo day. This is when you pitch your startup to well-known VCs, experienced Business Angels and our partners and mentors to secure a follow-up funding.
In the long run, there are lots of different success cases such as fully and vertical integration to Media-Saturn, further investments or exit.
Yes, we shape and adapt our programme according to the specific needs of the start-ups and requests by the start-ups are very welcome. We try to provide the start-ups with the know how, contacts and resources they need.
The investment capital & office space we provide is helpful for start-ups, but we believe that the true value of our programme lies within the services, know how and contacts: Firstly, we give the start-ups resources from and access to Media-Saturn, the #1 CE retailer in Europe. Secondly, there is a curriculum set up with top tier industry partners to develop the businesses in all relevant fields. And thirdly, we provide a network of entrepreneurs, mentors and investors.

Yes! You not only need to have a business idea, but an existing and properly registered company, a minimum viable product that enhances Media-Saturn’s value chain or product portfolio, and a complete team.
SPACELAB is looking for young innovative companies with a product addressing Media-Saturn’s value chain or product portfolio. We are open to a broad variety of companies with different backgrounds such as IoT, wearables, logistics, eHealth, gadgets, SaaS, e-commerce and many more.
We evaluate applications on the basis of several objective criteria. Additionally, various stakeholders with expert knowledge are involved in the evaluation process and will challenge your business idea. We guarantee that every application gets our full attention.

The acceleration contract

Apart from our investment, you will receive an enormous package consisting of work space, mentoring, lectures, workshops, networking events, access to our media-saturn networks etc.
